Brackenthwaite Farm offers a collection of four holiday properties located in the picturesque Arnside and Silverdale National Landscape on the border between North Lancashire and The South Lakes in Cumbria. Set within ten acres of its own private grounds, here you can enjoy a variety of onsite facilities including a 2 ½ acre fully enclosed field that is perfect for exercising dogs. Take a stroll yourselves around the site on a 1-mile path that weaves you past a miniature wildlife area and meet their resident farm animals of sheep, goats, and kunekune pigs – all pets – along the way. All properties are newly modernised and fully equipped for your needs. The owners take great care of their properties and the site ensuring everything is exceptionally clean and properly maintained.

Each property benefits from its own private space and semi-private outdoor area, as well as access to the shared spaces such as The Courtyard, Rose Garden, and Orchard. Brackenthwaite Farm can be hired out as a full site to accommodate up to 12 people and host a special occasion such as a family gathering or birthday celebration. Due to its setting within one of The UK’s most diverse and unspoilt natural landscapes, Brackenthwaite Farm is perfect for those who enjoy walking, hiking, and exploring new areas. The area is rich with ancient woodlands, intimate meadows, sandy beaches, limestone walls, buildings, and natural pavements, and some wonderful hillsides to climb for some incredible views across the bay and on towards The Lake District or The Yorkshire Dales. Within all these unique habitats there are more than half of all Britain’s flowering plant species, and an abundance of life that this supports.

Places to visit and some of the local attractions in the immediate area are Arnside and Silverdale, Gait Barrows National Nature Reserve, Arnside Knott and Warton Crag, RSPB Leighton Moss, and several sites owned and managed by The National Trust and Wildlife Trust. Other attractions include the Leighton Hall Estate, Sizergh Castle, and Levens Hall with its fine topiary gardens that are the oldest in the world. Further afield but also well worth visiting are Lake Windermere in The Lake District, the beautiful village of Ambleside, The World of Beatrix Potter, Lancaster Castle, and the promenade at Morecambe for its unrivalled views across the bay.
